Emmanuel collecting award

Emmanuel Afolabi comes 1st runners up

On 23rd November 2023, our founder Emmanuel had just fallen short of collecting his second award of the year at the Association of Ethnic Minorities and Black Engineers (AFBE) in Scotland, Aberdeen for the Young BME Professional of the year coming first runners up representing Ramboll UK and The Fest Hub his current employers.

The recognition is testament to the work The Fest Hub do within the communities we serve. Emmanuel had been a member of the AFBE since he was in university and used their platform to support goals of becoming an engineer through workshops, transition events and more.

The event saw a range of different companies attend including Microsoft, Shell, BP, Mercedes AMG Petronas and many more. Although Emmanuel didn’t win an award, he was still very proud of his accomplishments till date and shared the following on linkedin “ Unfortunately I didn’t win this time. Congratulations to the other candidates for being shortlisted including Abi Tetteh and Mohammad Taher who had won ahead of us. It was great to meet so many likeminded individuals and showcase the work we’re doing in the industry to make a difference. Overall, what a great event!”
